Back to Normal

Things are definitely back to normal. We're reading, playing or trying to drink out of a big boy cup.

Mason really got back to his old self around Wednesday of last week. He's been doing fine ever since. By some miracle, Phil and I did not catch the flu virus. Of course the flu outbreak is not over yet. Nana, Phil's mom, caught the flu around Thursday, but not from Mason. She's a teacher, and several of her students have had it.

Mason has his very own kitchen. This is how he keeps the food organized. I've lost count of how many times I've had to pick up all the play food.

Big Boy Cup!

"Good Job Mason!"

GranNanny is still not out of the woods yet, but she was feeling up to keeping Mason on Saturday, while my friend Sandy and I photographed a wedding. She still has not returned to work. She's received two of the steroid injections, and can get a third one in another week.

Mason had GranNanny and PapPaw hooked on, "Where's your lips?" He is TOO CUTE!

Take a look at my photography blog to see what I was up too on Saturday, CLICK HERE!!!

The FLU Hits Home

Mason woke up about 1:00 a.m. Friday morning with a fever. He ran a fever all day Friday and all day Saturday. I took him to the pediatric clinic Saturday morning, they tested for flu since it's been going around and sure enough it came back positive for Influenza A, (the doctor said that's what they are calling the swine flu). He's been prescibed TamiFlu twice a day for 5 days. I had a bad feeling that when he still had the fever on Saturday morning, that it was a good chance he had the flu. He's doing fine, even with a runny nose, ecspecially when he sneezes. I think the TamiFlu must make him sleepy because for the past 3 days, we've done pretty much nothing, but sit in the recliner. I stayed home today for precaution reasons. He should be fine now since he's been fever free for over 24 hours, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get it and spread it at work. Hopefully tomorrow he'll be able to go to daycare and I'll be able to go to work. Phil and I are washing our hands and using Germ-X like crazy.

We've all heard the "bad" stuff about this flu, so please keep Mason in your prayers.

Splish and Splash

Just a few more pictures from last weekend, (Sunday, Aug.16). Mason and I enjoyed some time at the river. He loves to splash around and throw rocks into the water.

My little guy!

Random Acts by Mason

Mason loves fish, so what else was there to do but buy a fish tank. Now we have three neon tetras in our care. He'll sit on the bar stool at just watch and sometimes let out a giggle.

"ish, ish"

Mason has also become very loving towards his stuffed animals. It's so precious.

"Give the monkey a hug."

Mason cam running out of his room the other day with his old pacifier in his mouth. I about died from laughing so hard. He stopped using a pacifier when he was around 4 or 5 months old, so it was just weird to see it in his mouth again.

He's our little stinker.

Mason is so full of life, it's just a simple pleasure to be in his presence. Just watching him learn new things thrills my soul. God has blessed us beyond measure by giving us our little boy. He's such a smart little guy, he can say so much these days. He repeats everything you say, or at least the last word. Even his teachers at daycare, have said he repeats everything they say. He loves to read books, and really gets into them. We have to read 2 to 3 books every night, unless he's just to tired we only read one. I love it. Some books we've read over and over he can see the picture and know what's going on. Phil and I are trying to cram as much knowledge into that little brain as we can.
Have a good rest of the week.

Mason's First Trip to the Zoo

Thursday, Aug. 13, was mine and Phil's 4 year anniversary. I took off on Friday so we could all celebrate by going to the zoo. (Phil and I also went on the General Jackson Showboat, Saturday night.)

A day of family fun!

The meerkats are my favorite.

Potty break. Right after I snapped this picture, Mason stood up and said "pee, pee" although he had another surprise as well.

Ahh, my loves.

We had such a GREAT day! Can't wait until we go back.

A Little of This and That

Needless to say, Mason got a new toy. He has the most fun crawling in and out.

And sometimes this happens!

Friday after work, Mason and I headed to stay with GranNanny and Dakota since Phil had to work. (Pap-Paw went on an over night camping trip, then a motorcycle ride on Saturday.)

He helped GranNanny, aka Nanny, pick a few tomatoes from the garden. Of course he had to carry the bucket. Update: GranNanny has been feeling about the same as far as her leg and back pain go. She finally did decide to go to the Franklin Bone & Joint last week, the doctor was very sure that she had a bulging disc touching a nerve. Yesterday she went back and got an injection of steroids through the process of an epidural. The doctor said she could feel some relief after 24 hours. (I'm praying when I talk to her today, she will feel some what better.)

Umm.

He's running after Dakota.

I don't know how Dakota has not broke his neck yet.

Ahh, Mason's sugars.

He's just a little slice of heaven.

Saturday after Mason and shopped till we literally dropped, we headed to Granny Mash's to celebrate Papa Mash's birthday.

He's a BamBam impersonator.

All Mash.

Little Huntleigh, loves her Uncle Phil. By Phil's expression, I think he feels the same.

Sunday evening Mason enjoyed his "Elmo" sprinkler.

Elmo spins, but Mason preferred him to be still.
Watch out.

We ended the weekend with some spaghetti. Mason's version, "sghetti."

What a great weekend we had.
Mason is just to much fun. Have a great rest of the week.

Gel + Head Ultrasound = Messy Hair

Look at that hair.

Mason did really good for the ultrasound. He wasn't sure at first, when the lady put the gel on his head, but he stayed still long enough for her to get a few pictures. Since his soft spot is pretty much closed up she couldn't get a good look, but she could see enough to know that he's perfectly fine. That's GOOD news. He just takes after his daddy!

Thank you for your prayers. Have a great rest of the weekend.
