After Leaving Mason with Pow Pow.....

Nanny and I did some shopping at Cool Springs Galleria Saturday afternoon. I needed some summer maternity tops and she needed some shorts and capri's. Pow Pow agreed to keep Mason and Dakota while we went on our shopping spree. After telling him how to do this, when to do that, etc., he then reminded me that he had raised two children already. While that's true, I don't remember very many times, if any, that he changed Dakota's diapers especially a stinky one. Great PawPaw was also there, so that made me feel better as far having an extra set of eyes to watch Mason, since they were at the back of the property working on a fence. Of course you know, Mason did have a stinky diaper while in Pow Pow's care, and much to my surprise Mason was clean and sleeping when we got back. However, the above picture tells you he was in the care of men. We came in to find him asleep on the pool table, with a T-shirt, diaper and socks. For a pillow, Pow Pow was nice enough to give him a life jacket.

My question to Pow Pow:
Me: "Dad, do you think you could've found a better spot to lay Mason down?"
Pow Pow: "Doesn't he look pretty, darn comfortable to you?"
I guess he did have a point!

Phil and Mason, two peas in a pod! These were taken Saturday night right before bedtime.

Mule Day 4-10-10

We attended the Mule Day parade two Saturdays ago. Phil had to work but he still got to stand with us and watch. The weather couldn't have been better!

Naomi Judd!

Mason saw a tractor coming.

Granny Rubert had a whole in the front of her hat, but got creative and glued a bird in it. I told her she could probably sell hats like that. It was really cute!

A family picture before leaving daddy at work.

Then, Mason and I headed to Centerville to attend the wedding of a good friend of mine. Tara and Kyle finally tied the knot! Congratulations!

I snapped a few shots while trying to hold on to Mason as well.

Then, we headed back to Columbia, to meet Nanny, Granny Rubert, and Dakota at the park.

I'm not sure what this look is about.

He had to see if the bird was real!

Me and my little guy! (And yes, I did get sun burnt!)

On Sunday, April 11, Phil, Mason and I headed to Springfield, TN to pick up a John Deere tractor that Phil got in an auction. Nana and Papa had attended the auction the day before since Phil had to work. We gave them a price limit and sent them on their way. And we got it!!

A short, funny story: On our way there, before we even got out of Columbia, we had a flat tire on the trailer, so Papa brought us another one. It took Phil 10-15 minutes to change it, then we headed out again. We got there, loaded it up and headed back to Williamsport. Right as we were getting back into a very busy part of Nashville, we had two more flat tires on the trailer. Nana and Papa to the rescue again. They made it to Nashville in 45 minutes (a record for Papa). As the three of us waited, we walked up the road a few feet to a grassy area and watched the planes and cars. It all worked out, nobody was hurt and we finally made it home with the NEW CAB TRACTOR! So, if you see Phil anytime soon, and his head looks a little swollen(you know, the big head syndrome), remember he just got a tractor he's been dreaming about since he was a kid. LOL!
My question to Phil after the third flat tire:
Me: "Do you think this is a SIGN that we shouldn't have gotten this tractor?"
Phil: "No, it's a sign that I need to get NEW TIRES on the trailer."

A Pleasant Evening

We spent most of Monday evening outside, we even grilled some pork chops.

Mason really likes his sand box. But he doesn't quite understand why he must keep the sand IN the box. Thank goodness we bought a couple of extra bags as refills.

Silly boy!

"Push me Momma!"

Picking daisies.

"I got one."

He's so stinkin' cute!

Easter Sunday (continued)

After church, we headed to Nanny & PowPow's for an Easter dinner. Then, you guessed it, another egg hunt! Since Dakota did not get to go to one, Mason was more than happy to hunt for eggs with him! He loves his Uncle Dakota! For them to be almost 7 years apart, they play really well together.

This is everybody except me and Granny Pullen. I know where I was, but I'm not sure where Granny Pullen was when I snapped the camera.

My little cowboy! He's getting ready for Mule Day!

Easter Sunday

Mason and Phil, after Mason found his Easter basket from the Easter bunny at the front door. Then sadly, Phil had to leave for work.

"A book!"

Then Mason headed to church. Of course since we're late to everything, we missed the sunrise service but did get to eat breakfast.

Then got to do another egg hunt!

They're trying to talk, almost one year, Kelby into picking up an egg. He opted for the flowers and grass instead.

After the egg hunt, I caught these two sitting in a pew looking at song books. Nobody told them to sit there, they just took it upon themselves.

We Were Busy on Good Friday!

We started out Good Friday with Mason wearing "Big Boy Underwear!" I've heard a few people say, they went straight to underwear instead of pull-ups with their toddlers and it worked. He was so excited about putting these underwear on and did really good for the first 2 hours. I kept reminding him that he did not have a diaper on and to let me know if he needed to go potty. He would say, "yes ma'am." Then we where about to head to town and I picked him up and he was wet. I said, "uh-oh, you already did it." He really didn't seem to care that he had peed on himself. So, needless to say we put a diaper before going to town. I have to say he looked pretty sharp in his Cars underwear and I was glad he was so ready to put them on! We will keep trying this training exercise, when we're home on the weekends. Potty training is FUN! LOL!

Mason in the truck before going to town. He has so many funny faces!

First we headed to Co-Op to get some new tires for the lawnmower. I looked around in the store while Phil and Mason went in the greenhouse to get some onion slips. I then heard Phil yelling Mason's name. So, I walked out to see what was going on. Well, Mason had gotten away from him and he couldn't find him. I started to get a little worried, because usually comes right back if he gets away from us. Phil looked on one side of the greenhouse and I looked on the other. I was looking out at the parking lot and then looked down and there he was bent down in the middle of 4 pallets of potting soil. Guess what he was doing? Poo-poo! He was just smiling at me! I yelled at Phil to let him know I found him. Phil said, "I hope you wore him out good." I said, "Well, he's a little busy at the moment doing his business." I didn't want to interfere with a man's business. It really scared me and Phil. It just goes to show how quick a child can disappear! After that little episode we got our tires and headed to Wal-Mart to get a sand box. Then to Bruster's for some ice cream!

Look at his tongue sticking out! He basically made a mess with his ice cream, but we had fun!

This is Phil telling Mason to sit down and don't move. You see that Mason really pushes the limit to the MAX as he slowly scoots off the seat. I had to hold back my giggles!

After all that Mason fell asleep on the way home. We let him sleep in the truck for a little while, since it was so nice outside.

Then while I was mowing the yard, they built a ramp on our storage building.

Mason was a big helper for his daddy! He actually was pretty good at hammering that nail!

Now, we can put the lawnmower in our own building.

Taking a short stroll on his tricycle.

We also dug up a garden spot. We still have to till it, but Phil decided to go ahead and plant the onions on one side. I'm so excited about a garden this year. We wanted to do one last year, but just didn't do it. I can't wait for the fresh tomatoes!!! I can taste them now, Yum!
Mason was eager to help daddy again!

I had so much fun watching them and capturing the moments. These two are quite comical as a father and son team! I love them both so, so much!

And of course Lucy had to stick her nose in the camera!

What a GREAT day, filled with lots of quality time together as a family!
