Tea Party

This past Friday, Mason's class had a tea party. All the kids had to wear their Sunday best. His teacher said they got to actually drink caffeine-free tea, listen to music and dance.

I know I'm partial, but he is a very handsome young man, oh I mean toddler!!
I guess you've noticed that I've been behind on the blog. Since the time has changed, we've been spending more time outside, therefore putting us late for supper, baths, and story time.
I'm 14 weeks pregnant now. Phil and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat about 4 weeks ago. I actually go to the doctor again tomorrow. At the last doctor appointment, I had lost a pound from the first appointment, which is a good thing. The doctor doesn't want me to gain no more than 20lbs. So, far so good, although I'm a little nervous that when I weigh tomorrow I may have gained 2 or 3lbs. I just feel like I have.

The Past Couple of Weeks

We walked over to Nana's one evening for a swing.

Mason pulling his wagon.

PowPow picked up Nanny in the bucket of the tractor, of course it was against her will.

Daddy and Mason on the track loader.

Mason picked a buttercup and said, "Uh, oh momma, it broke."

Then he tried to, "fix it."

Scooping up some dirt.

Mason on his slide he got for his birthday.

I LOVE that smile!!!!!!

A New Bedtime Routine

Since Mason was born, I've rocked him to sleep every night. I know some people may frown upon this, but it was my special time with my baby boy. I've been meaning to start putting him in his bed and letting him go to sleep on his own for the past few months, but just didn't do it. Well, since there is a little one on the way, this pushed me to finally start letting Mason be a big boy. He goes to sleep on his own at daycare with no problem, so he's had some experience. The past 3 nights I've taken Mason to his room, lifted him up and put him in his bed. Of course he starts crying. It breaks my heart! I hand him his Mickey Mouse, he wraps his arm around him and falls to the mattress. I cover him up, while he continues to cry. I say, "I love you Mason!" and walk out of the room. I also plug up his fish lamp. He continues to cry for 3-5 minutes and then it's QUIET. I just hope we stick to it and it gets easier for him. I have missed holding him in my arms as he drifts off to sleepy land, but I know this will pay off as he gets older and when his little brother/sister gets here. Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Fun in the Mud

Pictures from Sunday, Feb. 21. What a beautiful! I'm ready for more 60 degree weather!!

Dakota was so good with Mason in the go-kart. He went REALLY slow! So, slow that Mason almost fell asleep at one point.

Riding with Great Paw-Paw.

A little boy just can't resist MUD!!

A snapshot of Dakota and Nanny.

A WORM!!

I set the 10 second timer, ran over, fell in the mud and tried to twirl the dogs around best I could to catch this portrait.

Pow Pow and Mason had way to much FUN on the four wheeler. They would aim the four wheeler right at me and speed by. Oh the laughing!

Good times!

Mason's 2nd Birthday Party!

Mason turned 2 on Feb. 19, with a party on the 20th. It was a Mickey party.

Yep, Mason went to sleep during his party. (Of course, Granny Fite's rocking pushed him over the edge.)

Trying to wake him up. I took him outside in the sun and told him he had presents to open. It took him about 5 minutes to sit up straight and he was ready for his gifts.

We put out Mickey & Friends pictures for the kids to color, but I think the adults enjoyed them more.

He really got into the gift opening. Tissue paper flying everywhere.

He got the four wheeler from a friend of ours and mommy & daddy bought him a slide. I'm so excited about having a slide for him this summer.

Me & Brooke

A life size Mickey balloon. He was so cool! (It's been a week and two days since the party and Mickey is still floating around the house.)

Pow-Pow (aka Pap-Paw), Dakota, Nanny, and Mason

One last picture before we go home. It was a long day, but well worth it.

We are so blessed to have family and friends to come out and celebrate our little boy's birthday! I know Mason had a blast! Thank you to everybody who came out. A big Thank You to Mr.Rick again for taking over my camera and capturing these wonderful moments. (Just send me the bill. lol)
