Our Thanksgiving

(Edit) Just wanted to post some big pictures.

Jordan

Cameron. What about this face?

We had Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt Debbie's house. There was so much food to choose from. I just about made myself sick eating so much.

The best thing about Thanksgiving is FAMILY.

Thanks Aunt Debbie for having all of us over.

Hope everyone had a great day!

P.S. You can click on the collage to make it bigger.

The Doctor Said...

Mason had his 9 month checkup yesterday. The doctor said he has an ear infection. (This is his first ear infection.) He was prescribed stronger antibiotics than when he had the croup on Halloween. We are to go back in about 3-4 weeks for his ear to be looked at again, unless we can tell he's all better.

Even though he was sick, but not running a fever, the doctor decided to go ahead and give him a flu shot. He was taking a bottle when the nurse gave him the shot and he never flinched. I was waiting on his screaming cry. I guess the bottle out weighed the pain, or maybe he's just one tough cookie.

Last night he did better sleeping than he has in the past 3 nights. He only woke up once with his stuffy nose. It didn't take but 30 minutes and he was back out. Then he slept till 6:20 this morning.

His little nose doesn't seem to be running as much this morning. He's already playing in the kitchen floor with one of my stainless steel pots, that he got off the shelf himself.

I just pray this is a good sign he's getting better.

Have a great Saturday. I don't know about you, but we are staying indoors today. It is too coooold outside!!

Not Feeling So Well...

The past few days have been a little rough for Mason. I guess it started Sunday night. It's the usual runny/stuffy nose, and fever that comes and goes. This has caused some sleepless nights due to the fact, he CAN'T BREATH. His little nose is just terrible. Phil and I wish there was something more we could do for him, but all we have is the humidifier and a steam vaporizer. I've also used saline spray for infants, but I really can't tell if that's helping or not. Last night has been the worst. He only slept in his bed for about an hour before waking up. He and I slept in the recliner, while he tossed and turned trying to get comfortable. He would doze off for about 20 minutes at a time, then start all over again with the tossing and turning. At one point I had to get up to visit the restroom and I knew he was not going to like me sitting him down. But you got to go you got to go, right? I sat him down on the living room floor and dashed to the bathroom, he cried and cried, then I heard silence. When I came back he was asleep on the floor. I let him be and slept on the couch. He stayed there for 2 1/2 hours before waking up this morning at 5:00. It's nights like this that really make me feel like a mother, to care for my child when he's sick. Although I have to admit, I still get a little frustrated when I'm so sleepy, but I have to remind myself, "Brandie, he's not doing this on purpose."

He still plays and acts like he feels good for the most part, but you can look at his eyes and tell he's not 100%.

He has a 9 month checkup on Friday at 3:30. (He turned 9 mths on Wednesday.)
I know he has to get a flu shot on this visit, but I don't think he has to get any other shots. If he still has this sinus stuff going on, the doctor may give us Amoxicyllin again. (Spelling ?)

Surprisingly, I have not taken any pictures this week. (I don't know what's wrong with me.) I do plan on trying to set up something to do some Christmas pictures of Mason. I have to do a make- shift studio, with a white bed sheet and duct tape or pins to hang the sheet up for a backdrop. You'd be surprised how the final result comes out.

I would like to request prayers for Mason, so that he may get back to his normal self.

Hopefully, I will pick up my camera this weekend and take some pictures of our little guy.

I guess everybody is busy making plans for Thanksgiving next week. I still can't believe the holiday season is already upon us. Have a fun and safe weekend.

What's New

I got this book from TJ Maxx for $4.99. It was well worth it. The pictures are so bold and bright. Mason really enjoys looking at all the animals.

Mason has now moved on to stage 3 foods. We've been feeding him some things off of our plate depending on what it is, for example: mash potatoes, noodles, carrots, gravy, rice, crackers, cheese, bread. It still makes me nervous to think he might get choked, but at some point he has to get out of baby food. He's doing really well with the stage 3 foods. This jar of lasagna was pretty tasty and kept his two bottom teeth busy.

He's also starting playing with some dishware. He stays occupied while I cook supper.

"Hey mama, can you take a picture of me?"

That's all for now. I couldn't believe I hadn't posted since last Tuesday. I'm slacking.
Thanks for stopping by our blog. Have a great rest of the week.

Bath Time in the Big Tub

Mason has been taking baths in the big tub for a while now. He really enjoys being able to move around in the water. At first he was slipping and sliding, but we bought some rubber suction frogs to put on the tub floor, to keep Mason from sliding everywhere.

He really gives these dinosaurs a tough time.

"Which toy to play with?"

Mommy Should Be Ashamed!

While making Mason a bath, he likes to stand on the step and watch. I wanted to capture this task, but I did not think it would end like this. I was taking the picture as he was slowly falling to the floor. If you're wondering, I did put down the camera to help him back up and told him mommy was sorry. I felt so bad, but the tears didn't last long. He knew bath time was coming.

Oooohhhh Nooooooo!!!!

A Little Sleepy Time with Pap-Paw

These were taken on Nov. 1 after a small get together at GranNanny and Pap-Paw's house. (I didn't get to take pictures of everybody else because Mason was sick, therefore the camera got put to the back burner.) I was telling everybody bye and came back in the house to find Mason and Pap-Paw fast asleep. It was to sweet not to take a picture of.

Pap-Paw sure is crazy about his grandson.

SILLY BOY

This picture was taken last week when Mason started getting sick. We had given him some Tylenol and apparently he couldn't make it through supper. It was so cute.

Mason loves his daddy's hat, so I gave him his own hat. He never tried to take it off.

I'm not sure what this look is.

Our silly boy.

Mason can now say "mama." I've never been so proud of one word in my life. It's so precious to hear him say. He just goes around saying "ma ma mama." He's been saying "dada" every so often. When he pulls himself up now, he's starting to take a few steps from side to side. He also shakes his head from side to side, "no no no." I can't express how much Phil and I love this little guy. Stay tuned for more of Mason's actions.

It's now 10:30, and I've been watching coverage on the election and witnessed them say Obama is our next President. May God lead, guide and direct him.

Have a great week.
